For all the hype about user-generated content, it seems like most of what people post is a vast wasteland of copycat Mentos®-meets-Diet Coke videos, bad parodies, and shaky videos of themselves crashing their cars.

Flektor was designed to change that, and bring quality to the user generated content world, even for people who don't have great artistic skills. Flektor allows you to quickly and easily create, remix, and share your photos, videos, with others via email, on mySpace, or in your blog.

The Flektor founders have spent the bulk of their adult lives creating media and entertainment. Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin co-founded legendary game developer Naughty Dog, creators of Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter before selling the company to Sony Computer Entertainment in 2000. Jason Kay spent four years at Home Box Office, working as a consultant to the EVP of Business Development.

As avid technology consumers as well as creators, one thing that was missing from our experience online was a fun, easy to use tool to "mashup" media. Hence the Flektor Quickstart Wizards and simple to use, drag and drop interface. And we didn't want users to have to re-upload data they had created, so we integrated Flickr, Photobucket, and other media-storage repositories directly into Flektor itself.

Hopefully, you'll have as much fun creating things with Flektor as we did making it.
